What are the Benefits of a Philippine Postal ID and How to Get One?

A new postal ID is a government issued ID that is one of the easiest and fastest to obtain according to Philippine Postal Office (Philpost) website. Sometimes, getting Postal ID is the last resort for some people who have no single ID at all.

Who can apply for the New Postal ID?

Anyone can get a postal ID. There is no age requirement and even Filipino’s working or residing abroad can apply.
Foreigners who resides in the Philippines for more than (six) months can apply for postal ID.

What are the requirements?

1. 2 copies of PID application form from philpost office

2. 1 copy of Proof of Identity

Authenticated Birth Certificate
Driver’s License
Authenticated Marriage Certificate for married female applicant

If the above mention Proof of Identity is not available, the applicant should present two of the following secondary identification card:

Baptismal Certificate
Certificate of Birth from National Commission for Indigenous People (NCIP) for Filipinos belonging to Indigenous Peoples
Certificate of Birth from the National Commission for Muslim Filipinos (NCMP) for Muslim Filipinos
College or Post Graduate Transcript of Records with readable dry seal
Confirmation Certificate
Elementary or High school Form 137 with readable dry seal for applicants who are 18 years old and below
Marriage Certificate in SECPA issued by NSO for those male and female married applicant
Marriage Certificate issued by LCR for those male and female married applicant
Valid Alumni ID
Valid Basic Postal ID
Valid College, School or University ID
Valid Company ID
Valid Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) ID
Valid NBI Clearance with digitized photo
Valid Pag-ibig ID

How to get Postal ID?

Prepare the necessary documents  and submit at the nearest post office in your area
Fill up the application form.
Your documents will be checked and after this, you will be directed to go to  ID Capture Station to be photographed and fingerprinted.

New postal ID is now accepted as a requirement for passport application.
You will be having an ID that is valid for 3 years and accepted in all government and private transactions.
