The Alkaline Diet Every Cancer Patient Needs to Know

A balanced pH level of the body is one of the most important things every person needs to know. 

Our overall health is significantly affected by it and in order to stay healthy, you need to maintain an alkaline environment in the body.

Maintaining an alkaline environment in the body is difficult because people consume unhealthy food loaded with chemicals and toxins, fast foods and processed foods, resulting in an increased risk for cancer. 

Here are some beneficial tips on how to restore pH balance and maintain an alkaline environment:

1. Alkaline Diet should be based mainly by Organic leafy vegetables

        Your diet should be based mainly on organic leafy green vegetables such as cabbages, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, beans, and herbs. 

2. Avoid sugar
         Sugar reduces the magnesium content in the body and thus supports cancer cells to grow. Instead of consuming unhealthy sugars, you can consume apples, berries, applesauce or fresh pineapple. 

3. Consume 2-4 ounces of fruits 

  The Alkaline diet permits consumption of at least 2-4 ounces of fruits, clean fish, organic poultry, several times a week.

4. Avoid Dairy
       Did you know that cow milk can cause cancer, according to T. Colin Campbell, a professor at Cornell University. Instead of drinking cow milk, powdered milk or cheese that feed cancer, opt for coconut or almond milk.

5. Filter your water

         If you don’t have a water ionizer, please still do aim to get some level of filtration for your tap water. Remember that tap and bottled water are full of toxins and have an acidic pH.

6. Limit animal protein
    Limit your animal protein sources (beef, chicken, pork, eggs and dairy products) to 1 serving o less per day. 

7. Stop consuming gluten

      Cancer patients should avoid baked goods like cakes, muffin, bread, cookies, and pasta because it may lead to inflammation. Your best option is to replace these foods with millet, organic rice, and quinoa.
