StarStruck is a Philippine reality talent competition by GMA Network. It debuted on October 27, 2003 and has since become one of the most popular shows reality competition programs on the Philippine television.
Winners for this reality competition are often expected to stay on GMA-7 as a way to build their career and as a sign of loyalty to the network that gave them their big break, but some of them decided to transfer to ABS-CBN. Here they are:
He’s the winner of the fourth season of “StarStruck” and was given a number of lead roles on GMA, being paired with Kris Bernal who was also a fellow “StarStruck” alum. But recently, Aljur moved to Kapamilya Network.
He was eliminated from “StarStruck: The Next Level,” but the Kapuso Network still signed him and gave him numerous projects. After turning down a role offered by GMA-7, Paulo took part in theABS-CBN series, “Walang Hanggan.” He then became a leading man to Kapamilya actresses, Angeline Quinto, Bea Alonzo, and Maja Salvador.
After she became tangled in alleged issues of cheating, Arci was eliminated from the third season of the show. After the reality show, she was given a few “kontrabida” roles on GMA. Her career took a major turn after she starred in ABS-CBN’s remake of the Mexican drama, “Pasion de Amor.”
She was eliminated quite early in the first season of the reality show. GMA-7 gave her kontrabida roles post-“StarStruck,” but Cristine transferred to Kapamilya Network in 2008 where she was cast as the lead in “Eva Fonda.”
She had won the title of “Ultimate Female Survivor” in the fifth season of StarStruck. She was immediately given major roles after her victory. However, in 2013, Sarah announced she was having conflicts with her home network and later sued by GMA management. In 2015, she surprised viewers by performing on ABS-CBN’s ASAP.
She’s the female first runner-up in the second season of “StarStruck.” After starring in a few GMA projects, Megan transferred to ABS-CBN in 2007. She was even included in the 2nd season of the celebrity edition of “Pinoy Big Brother.” In 2013, she won the Miss World title and made a showbiz comeback by returning to GMA, her home network.
He won the title of “First Prince” in “StarStruck IV: The Next Level.” He was given lead roles but later decided to transfer to ABS-CBN. In 2016, he took part in the Kapamilya network’s “Till I Met You.” Prince admitted that he was gay.
He was a contestant in “StarStruck 3: The Nationwide Invasion.” Later, he was seen on Kapamilya Network as a housemate in “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up” where he landed in fourth place. He appears in “The Better Half” and “La Luna Sangre.”
