Filipino Celebrities You Won’t Believe Who Has Foreign Blood running through their veins

Sometimes, you just can’t help but notice how some celebs are so mestizahin or exotic-looking that you end up wondering whether or not they really are pure-blooded Pinoys.

But do you know some of our local celebrities can perfectly hide their blood lineage due to their given name on the industry? Here, we have some of the personalities who are of foreign blood that is hardly recognizable because of the screen names they use on television and films.

Marian Rivera – Rivera was born in Madrid, Spain to Francisco Javier Gracia Alonso, a Spaniard, and Amalia Rivera, a Filipina from Cavite. Her parents got married and eventually got divorced when she was three years old, after which her mother brought her to the Philippines where she grew up.

Bea Alonzo – Phylbert Angelie Ranollo Fagestrom (born October 17, 1987), better known by her screen name Bea Alonzo is a Filipino film and television actress, host and singer. Her father is British, and her mother is a Filipina. Her parents are separated.

Angelica Panganiban – Angelica Charlson (born November 4, 1986), professionally known as Angelica Panganiban, is a Filipino film and television actress and comedian. Charlson was born in Payatas, Quezon City on November 4, 1986. Her biological mother is a Filipina who died in 2008 and was buried in Singapore, while her biological father, Mark David Charlson is an American from Iowa, United States and a former member of the US Navy. She acquired the surname Panganiban from her adoptive family.

Jessy Mendiola – Jessy Mendiola (born Jessica Mendiola Tawile; December 3, 1992) is a Filipino actress. Mendiola was born in Dubai where her father used to work. She is the second of three siblings, of Didith Garvida, a Filipina and Roger Tawile, a half Lebanese, half British.

Liza Soberano – Hope Elizabeth “Liza” Soberano born January 4, 1998)is a Filipino-American actress and model. Hope Elizabeth Soberano was born in Santa Clara, California, to a Filipino father John Castillo Soberano, and an American mother, Jacqulyn Elizabeth Hanley.

Angelika Dela Cruz – Maria Lourdes Egger dela Cruz-Casareo, better known by her screen name Angelika Dela Cruz (born 29 October 1981),is a Filipina actress and singer. Angelika was born to a Filipino father Ernie Dela Cruz and an Italian-Austrian mother Angelica Egger.

Tom Rodriguez – Bartolome Alberto Mott, commonly known by the stage name Tom Rodriguez, is a Filipino-American actor. Rodriguez is from Catbalogan City, Samar, and later migrated to the United States when he was 12 years old with his parents. He was born in Subic Naval Base in Zambales to William Mott, an American serviceman and Teresita Abinguna, Filipina.

Sarah Lahbati – Sarah Alzol Lahbati (born 9 October 1993) is a Swiss-Filipino actress and reality show contestant who gained media attention as a finalist on the 5th season of StarStruck, a Philippine overall talent show broadcast on GMA Network. Her father, Abdel Lahbati, is Moroccan. Her mother, Estrella “Esther” Canlas Alzol, is Filipina, from Intramuros, Manila.

Ejay Falcon – Edward Jake Lasap Falcon (born November 21, 1989, popularly known as Ejay Falcon, is a Filipino model and actor who is currently a contract artist of ABS-CBN and the winner of Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Plus. His biological father is a French national.

Julia Montes – Julia Montes was born Mara Hautea Schnittka on March 19, 1995, in Pandacan, Manila, Philippines, to a Filipino mother, Gemma Hautea, and German father, Martin Schnittka. Schnittka left them when Montes was still a baby, and only her deaf mother raised her with the help of her grandmother, Flory Hautea.
